        Useful information

        Frequently asked questions (F.A.Q.)

Do I need prior experience to do a ridge traverse?

Not necessarily. There are very accessible ridges ideal for getting started in this type of terrain.
We will adapt the activity to your level and accompany you throughout the entire route.

Are ridges very exposed or difficult activities?

It depends a lot on the chosen ridge. Some are simple and ideal for discovering aerial sensations safely, while others require more experience and technical capacity.

What is the difference between a ridge traverse (cresta) and a multi-pitch route (via llarga)?

A ridge traverse combines walking, scrambling, and some easy climbing moves following the crest of the mountain. A multi-pitch route, on the other hand, is a more continuous and vertical climb divided into several rope pitches.

Do I need to know how to climb to do a ridge traverse?

Not always. Many ridges are designed for people who are used to mountain hiking but have no prior climbing experience.

What specific equipment do I need to bring?

You only need to bring comfortable clothing, appropriate mountain footwear, water, and an insulating layer or windbreaker depending on the season. We provide all the necessary technical equipment.

How many people can go with a single guide?

The usual ratio is small to ensure safety and smooth movement throughout the route. The number of participants will depend on the type of ridge and the group's level, ranging from 1 to 2 people per guide.

How long does a ridge traverse activity last?

It depends on the chosen route. There are ridges that can be done in half a day or a relaxed day, and others that involve longer approaches or activities lasting one or more days.

Can ridge traverses be done outside the Pyrenees?

Yes. Although we mainly work in the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees, we can also travel to other areas depending on the activity or the objective you have in mind.

Can I book a specific ridge traverse that I want to do?

Yes. If you have a specific ridge in mind, we can evaluate it together and prepare an activity adapted to your level and the current conditions.

What happens if I am afraid of heights (vertigo)?

It depends on the degree of vertigo and the type of activity. There are very progressive ridges that allow you to get used to the aerial exposure in a calm and safe way.

What physical preparation is needed to do a ridge traverse?

You need to have a basic level of fitness to hike in the mountains for several hours, but a high climbing level or specific training is not necessary.

What if the weather is bad on the day of the activity?

Safety is our priority. If the weather conditions are poor, we will look for an alternative, change the activity, or reschedule the trip.

        What does the activity include?

        Certified climbing guide
        Collective technical equipment
Individual technical equipment (climbing shoes included)
        Accident and civil liability insurance
        Photographic report of the experience
