Useful Information

Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.)

What is the difference between a climbing course and an introductory session?
The main difference is the goal: the introductory session is an experiential activity where the guide manages all the safety so you can simply enjoy climbing; whereas the course is educational, aiming for you to learn maneuvers, knots, and protocols to gradually gain autonomy and safety on the wall.
Do I need prior experience to take an introductory course?
No, our introductory courses are designed for people who have never climbed before or have only tried it at a climbing gym. We start from scratch, explaining everything from how to put on a harness to basic progression techniques.
What climbing gear do I need to bring?
Pirineu Vertical provides all the technical equipment needed for the activity, both collective and individual, including climbing shoes. The only things you will need to bring are comfortable clothing and appropriate mountain footwear. Even so, if you do not have mountain shoes, we will advise you on the best option depending on the activity.
Is it safe to learn to climb on rock?
Climbing is a managed risk sport. In our courses, safety is our absolute priority. You will learn double-check protocols and how to use certified equipment under the constant supervision of a certified guide (TD), minimizing risks to the maximum.
How many students are there per guide?
We work with small ratios (typically between 1:4 or 1:6 depending on the course) to guarantee personalized attention. This allows us to correct your technique individually and ensure that no question goes unanswered.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day of the course?

If the weather conditions do not allow the activity to be carried out safely, we will look for an alternative area with better weather or postpone the training to a new date that works for you.
In some cases, if the course is urgent or there is no other viable option, we may also consider carrying out part of the training at a climbing gym or in an area protected from the rain.
Safety and making the most of the activity are always our priority.

Where are the training courses and sessions held?

We work in the best climbing areas in the region, selecting the sector based on the discipline and the time of year. Our usual locations include Collegats, Terradets, Àger, Camarasa, Amitges, Cavallers, Montserrat, Margalef, and Siurana.

Can I take a course if I am afraid of heights (vertigo)?

It is completely normal to feel a healthy respect for height. In our courses, we work on emotional management and trust in the equipment progressively. Many students discover that, with the right technique, fear transforms into a rewarding focus.

Do the courses include any type of insurance?

Yes, all our training sessions include mandatory accident and third-liability (RC) insurance. You are covered from the moment the activity begins with the guide.
